Cooperation with FinlandThe Tyumen region continues to develop the international contacts with the countries of near and far abroad interested in cooperation, in all directions.In this article it will be a question of cooperation of the Tyumen region with one of countries of Northern Europe – Finland. Finland occupies 3 place in foreign trade of the south of area after Italy and Turkey. In 2008 the foreign trade turnover with Finland has grown in comparison with 2007 on 11 % and has made 118,96 million dollars (export - 109,96 million dollars, import – 9 million dollars). Cooperation with Finland is carried out in various industries: petrochemical, light, wood, agricultural, food, power sector, a fuel and energy complex, transport-logistical direction. Wood branch – one of priority directions of development of cooperation with Finland. Considerable stocks of wood are concentrated to territory of our region. The general stock of trees makes about 700 million in cubic metre To co-operate our region began more actively with Finland since 2006. So in April, 2006 the delegation of the Tyumen region has taken part in the Forum «Days of the Russian economy» in Helsinki (Finland). During visit to Finland representatives of the enterprises of a timber industry complex of the south of the Tyumen region led by the Assistant of the Governor of the Tyumen region A.V.Moor have visited leading enterprises of the wood industry of Finland. In 2006 under the state order of the Government of the Tyumen region the Finnish consulting company Yaakko Puri Consulting (Pöyry Forest Industry Consulting Oy Jaakko Pöyry Consulting) had been developed Strategy of development of the wood industry of the Tyumen region. In it the following priority projects including have been defined: 1. Creation of the enterprise for manufacture of a wood-shaving plate by capacity of 450 thousand м3 / year; 2. Creation of the enterprise for manufacture of a wood-fibrous plate of average durability by capacity of 250 thousand м3 / year; 3. Creation of the enterprise for manufacture of dry coniferous saw-timbers by capacity of 100 thousand м3 / year; 4. Building of plywood factory by capacity of 100 thousand м3 / year; 5. Creation of the enterprise for manufacture OSB (plates from the focused bunches of fibres) by capacity of 250 thousand м3 / year. Now in the Tyumen region projects on manufacture of plywood, wooden frame houses (100 houses in a year) already are realised. Negotiations on the organisation of new manufactures of a wood-shaving plate, coniferous saw-timbers and a wood-fibrous plate are carried on. In view of impressive stocks of wood resources, the Government of the Tyumen region suggests investors to take part in realisation of the listed projects. In December, 2008 the Department of an investment policy and the state support of business of the Tyumen region has held presentation of investment and economic potential of region for members of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of commerce in Moscow. Carrying out of the specified presentation has served as an impulse for expansion of trade and economic relations and business contacts. One of examples of successful economic cooperation with Finland is investment activity of company Fortum in territory of the Tyumen region. In Russia Fortum became the first foreign strategic investor in electric power industry. For today the concern possesses 93,4 % of shares of Open Society «The territorial generating company-10». Fortum is one of leading electropower concerns of countries of Northern Europe and region of Baltic sea. The company makes, transfers and realises the electric power and warmly, renders services in management, operation and maintenance service of the enterprises of a power complex. Besides the primary activity company Fortum realises also social projects. In 2008 within the limits of the charitable program the company renders the help to a boarding school of Tobolsk, to Children's city hospital №1 of Tyumen, the centre of the social help to a family and children «Maria» of Tyumen, the regional rehabilitation centre for children and teenagers with the limited possibilities «Spring», to children's home of Uspenka, the Tyumen correctional children's garden-school №87. During the period from June, 8 till June, 11th, 2009 visit of representatives of 16 Finnish companies to the Tyumen region will take place. Thereupon the Department of an investment policy and the state support of business of the Tyumen region together with the Finnish-Russian Chamber of commerce plans the organisation of a business forum in Tyumen. Similar actions are traditionally spent for the Tyumen enterprises for the purpose of rendering of assistance in search of potential partners. |
NewsOn Friday November 15, 2011 a cooperation agreement between the Tyumen region Government and Association of light industry enterprises was signed by the Deputy Governor Vladimir Mazur and the Association President Dmitry Petrovsky, reported the Department on investment policy and state support of entrepreneurship.
