Following the results of the foreign trade goods turnover of the Tyumen region (without autonomous regions) with Austria for 12 months 2007 on a zone of activity of the Tyumen customs in percentage terms has essentially grown, namely on 198,28 %, having reached an indicator of 1322,65 thousand US dollars, in comparison with the similar period of 2006 (667,05 thousand US dollars).
Within 2007 one commodity-nomenclature group was exported to the Austrian Republic from territory of the south of the Tyumen region: wood and products from it; and following groups of the goods were imported: live animal (breeding cows and bulls); products from ferrous metals; tools, adaptations from not precious metals; coppers, the equipment and their parts; and also electric cars and the equipment, their parts, sound recording and sound-reproducing equipment.
The volume of the saved up investments which have arrived from investors in economy of the Tyumen region from the Austrian Republic for January, 2007, makes 4 008,9 thousand dollars USA.
In territory of the Tyumen region are registered and dynamically some enterprises with the Austrian investments into building, bank and oil spheres work.

In building sphere
The enterprise with the Austrian investments of Open Company «Ost-Invest-und Bauproektmenedzhment» is actively engaged in housing construction with application of new technologies in housing construction, with attraction to work on building objects in Tyumen the Austrian experts.
It is necessary to underline that cooperation between the Tyumen region and the Austrian Republic in sphere of civil housing construction has passed formation and development more 15 years ago, in the beginning of 1992. In particular, the decision on necessity of realisation of the joint Russian-Austrian project on designing and a lining of gas pipelines and water pipes of low pressure with application of pipes from polyethylene in inhabited settlements Matmasy and Mys was accepted.
The specified project has been realised by enterprise «Zapsibgazpromstroy» and the Austrian company «GWH Wien». In Tyumen on the basis of the Tyumen industrial institute (nowadays the Tyumen oil and gas university) in 1992 – 1993 were trained gas welders on polyethylene, the engineers of pipeline transport involved in the project. Have taken place as well training in the Austrian Republic for the purpose of reception of practical skills.

In sphere of a fuel and energy complex
In 2005 official opening of the Tyumen office of the Austrian company OMV working in oil and gas sector of economy has taken place. In 2007 there was a merge of Tyumen branch OMV to the Russian partner to formation of joint venture of Open Company «KorSarNeft».

In bank sphere
The Tyumen branch of Joint-Stock Company «Rajffajzenbank Austria» systematically renders a wide spectrum of bank services to legal and to physical persons, offers crediting programs, including packages of proposals to representatives of small and average business.

In agriculture sphere
As a result of the trip which have taken place in July, 2007 of delegation of the Government of the Tyumen region under the direction of Governor of the region V.V. Yakushev by the invitation of the Federal Minister of Agriculture of Austria Joseph Prollya the contract on horned cattle purchase - breeding bulls and cows simmenthal breeds has been signed. With organizational support of the federal Ministry of Agriculture of Austria a number of mutually useful meetings, insemination stations in Hoentsel, agricultural professional school, a horned cattle farm simmenthal breeds in Nojzidle has taken place.
Besides, the Tyumen cattle breeders had an opportunity to pass courses of improvement of qualification, as a theoretical course in Tyumen in September, 2007, as a practical course in November, 2007 with departure on the cattle-breeding enterprises of Austria according to mutually coordinated program.
Leading enterprises food and process industry of the Tyumen region have partner relations with the Austrian firms – manufacturers of the process equipment for meat and milk processing. In particular, Open Society «The meat-packing plant Jalutorovskyy» buys the process equipment of Austrian firm «Shaller». Since 2001 on the present, for the agricultural enterprises of the Tyumen region in Austria it is bought the equipment on 25 million roubles. Till the end of 2007 the contract sum on equipment purchase will make about 1 million euro.
Open Society «Yalutorovskmoloko», since 2006 and to this day, co-operates with the company «EsIGe Kombiblok» (Austria) which has put the equipment on release of the cream, the sterilised milk in single packings. Open Society «Yalutorovskmoloko» plans to support the come into contacts further.
The initiative in sphere of mutual cooperation and additional training and practice of students in sphere of plant growing and animal industries with the Federal Biotechnological centre of Austria was undertaken by «Тhe Tyumen state agricultural academy».

The international contacts of the Tyumen region to the Austrian partners in 2007
1. Working visit of the Austrian company «Vinerberger Kirpich» on April, 1st, 2007 has taken place. Possibility of opening of new manufacture the head of region Vladimir Yakushev and the general director of Open Company «Vinerberger Kirpich» have discussed Alfred Hofer.
2. The presentation of investment-economic potential of the Tyumen region in capital of the Austrian Republic – Vienna on March, 29th, 2007 has taken place. The presentation has been spent at participation and support of Commercial and industrial chamber of the Russian Federation in Austria and has received a good resonance and the big interest of the Austrian potential partners.
3. On July, 24-27th, 2007 visit of official delegation of the Tyumen region led by Governor V.V. Yakushev to Vienna (the Austrian Republic) for the purpose of development of trade and economic relations, investment cooperation and partner relations between the Tyumen region and the Austrian Republic.
4. On October, 24th, 2007 the Governor of the Tyumen region V.V. Yakushev has met the Austrian delegation which has arrived to region by the direction of the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Austrian Republic in the Russian Federation of Martin Vukovich for participation in opening of office of the Tyumen branch of Joint-Stock Company «Rajffajzenbank Austria».
Within the limits of visit cooperation agreement signing between the Government of the Tyumen region and Joint-Stock Company «Rajffajzenbank Austria» has taken place.
It is necessary to note, what not all directions of cooperation of the Tyumen region and the Austrian Republic which can be mutually interesting, are developed sufficiently.
Rather perspective directions of activity with the Austrian Republic are housing construction, manufacture of building materials, oil and gas instrument making and mechanical engineering, joint research workings out and researches, first of all, in oil and gas branch.
It is not necessary to forget and the big possibilities of expansion of tourist business, joint projects in sphere of the higher and secondary education (an exchange of students and pupils), in sphere of improvement of professional skill and retraining of personnel (experience of interaction of the Tyumen and Austrian high schools).
