The delegation of the Tyumen region has taken part in the Russian national exhibition in Tashkent in 2007.
Now there is a successful example of investment in republic economy from the Tyumen region so the Tyumen ovchino-mekhovaya fabrika (ТОМF) in November, 2007 has redeemed a property complex of the unprofitable enterprise «Bukhara Karakul». In the long term the enterprise «Bukhara Karakul» becomes the largest manufacturer of production from astrakhan fur and fur on space of the countries of the CIS.

Between the Tyumen region (Tyumen) and the Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) the international regular aircraft service is established.
The foreign trade turnover of the Tyumen region with the Republic of Uzbekistan according to the Tyumen customs in 2008 has made 11,08 million US dollar, including: export – 4 084 thousand dollars, import - 7 014 thousand dollars that in 6 times less than the similar period of 2007 (2007 - 68 million US dollar).
From the Tyumen region following commodity groups are mainly exported to Uzbekistan: polymeric materials, plastic and products from them, rubber and products from them, wood and products from it; charcoal, a wool of sheep, thin and rough wool of animals; a yarn and a fabric from a horsehair, chemical fibres, footwear, gaiters and similar products; a product from ferrous metals, electric cars and the equipment.
From Uzbekistan it is imported: natural and artificial fur; products from it, cars and their spare parts.
During the period from April, 1 till April, 2nd, 2009 visit of delegation of the Tyumen region to Tashkent of the Republics of Uzbekistan for the purpose of advancement of production of the Tyumen manufacturers on the external commodity markets has taken place. The delegation was headed by the assistant to the governor of the Tyumen region A.V.Moor. The delegation structure included the president of association of the enterprises of light industry of the Tyumen region I.V. Bratuhin and the chairman of board of Association of lumberers and woodworkers of the Tyumen region E.V. Mark.
The results of negotiations offers on opening of representation of the Tyumen region in the Republic of Uzbekistan, to placing of branches of the Tyumen enterprises in territory of special economic zones of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the organisation of direct deliveries of fruit-and-vegetable production on territory of the Tyumen region have been made.
The delegation of the Tyumen region under the direction of the assistant to governor Alexander Moor has spent a number of negotiations about cooperation of the Tyumen and Uzbek businessmen. As a result operating company «PARTIKOM» has planned three potential directions of work in this area. First, the company is interested in trade in forest products in territory of Uzbekistan and in the future the company considers possibility of exit on the markets of Afghanistan, Iran and Kyrgyzstan. Secondly, the company considers possibility of creation in Uzbekistan factories on manufacture of furniture and a network of retail shops «Mebelvill». At last, in Uzbekistan some programs on habitation building operate.
From April, 22 till April, 27th, 2009 with reciprocal visit to Tyumen there has arrived the head of state joint-stock foreign trade company «Ozmarkazimpeks» of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kamildzhan Usmanov.
During visit mister Usmanov has visited following industrial enterprises with a view of an establishment of partner relations: Open Society «Tyumen fanernyy kombinat»,Open Society «Zapsibgazprom», Open Company «Sibir Trailer», Open Society «Tyumen akkumulyatornyy zavod», Open Society DOK «Krasnyy oktyabr», Open Society «TNK-BP» in Tyumen.
Besides, meetings with representatives of enforcement authorities of the Tyumen region, members of Association of the enterprises of light industry, and also representatives of the Uzbek diaspora living in the Tyumen region have taken place.
On April, 27th, 2009 signing of the report about intentions on trade and economic cooperation between Open Society DOK «Krasnyy oktyabr» and state joint-stock foreign trade companies «Ozmarkazimpeks», (the Republic of Uzbekistan) has taken place.
Main objective of signing of the document is expansion and strengthening of commercial relations on a mutually advantageous basis. Work will be organised in sphere of carrying out of purchase of textile products in territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and realisation of given production in own retail points of Open Society DOK «Krasnyy oktyabr» - shopping centres «Mebelvill».
Now the Government of the Tyumen region intends:
- To work a question of signing of the Agreement or the Memorandum between the Government of the Tyumen region and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan about cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical spheres;
- To initiate a question of appointment of the authorised sales representative of the Tyumen region in the Republic of Uzbekistan and creations of representation with constantly operating lay-out of the exhibition of production of the enterprises of the Tyumen region;
- To organise visit of the Governor of the Tyumen region V.V. Yakushev to Uzbekistan.
- To assist the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in opening Open Company PII « Torgovyy Dom «Uzbekistanin» on territory of the Tyumen region for realisation of fruit-and-vegetable production and textiles;
- To organise carrying out of trade and economic mission of the enterprises of the Tyumen region to Tashkent.
7730 persons from Uzbekistan lives in the Tyumen region according to population census of 2002, from them in the south of area of 1569 persons.
In the Tyumen region it is created, officially registered and the Tyumen regional public organisation – the Uzbek national society «Novruz» works. The purposes and problems of this society are preservation of national culture, language, traditions of the Uzbek people living in the Tyumen region.
