Since 2000, in territory of the south of the Tyumen region industrial production growth is observed. Thus it is necessary to notice that the rate of increase of industrial production of the majority of branches of the Tyumen region exceeds the all-Russian level.
In 2005 in the Tyumen region it has been made an industrial output on 56 billion rbl. that has made 124 % from level of the given indicator for 2004 (in the comparable prices).
The aggregate number of the personnel of the industrial enterprises in 2005 has made 71, 3 thousand persons or 17 % from an aggregate number working in the Tyumen region.
Directions and prospects of development of industrial production of region are defined in the regional target program «The basic directions of development of the industry and small business of the Tyumen region for 2006-2008», confirmed by the order of the Government of the Tyumen region from 24. 10. 2005 № 789-rp.
Program strategic target is creation of conditions and assistance to development of industrial productions for increase of well-being of the population of the Tyumen region. For realisation of the specified purpose following problems are defined:

• Assistance in increase of competitiveness of production of the industrial enterprises;
• Development of an infrastructure of industrial activity;
• Assistance in industrial output advancement in the internal and external markets;
• Creation of an information-analytical basis for an effective utilisation of industrial potential;
• Assistance in creation of new manufactures.

Realisation of a complex of the actions directed on performance of listed problems, is connected not only with maintenance of stable work of existing industrial productions, but also with creation of the new enterprises, carrying out of modernisation, modernisation and introduction of new technologies. In particular the Russian-German enterprise of Joint-Stock Company «Perfolayn», factory «Plastic-tyumen» have been started in operation. Metallurgical manufacture of lead at «The tyumen storage factory» extends. The civil-engineering design of metallurgical industrial complex waits for realisation. The factory on 550 thousand tons of hire a year is planned to put in operation by 2008. Start of the enterprise of such capacity will allow to double volumes of machine-building manufacture of the south of region.
The government of the Tyumen region conducts purposeful work on attraction in region of the enterprises which are world leaders in certain industries. Result of the given work is creation and strengthening of industrial communications between the companies-leaders and local manufacturers of an industrial output that promotes not only to increase of volumes of output of an industrial output, but also is stimulus to development of new technologies, start of new kinds of production, certification carrying out according to the international standards. Now in area territory such known firms as Schlumberger, KCA Deutag, the great interest to region is shown by companies Bentec Drilling and Oilfield Systems, National Oilwell Varco, Harvest Natural Resources and others work.
The considerable attention is given to creation of conditions on maintenance of the industrial enterprises with qualified personnel. In the given direction the regular work including annual monitoring about presence of not demanded vacancies and the forecast of requirement of industries, trade, public catering and consumer services in working specialities and engineering shots for 2006-2009 taking into account realised and long-term plans of development of the enterprises is conducted. For increase of prestige of working specialities competitions of professional skill are held, involved in mass media cooperation. As a result of the spent work by data State statisticians the general employment of the population in processing manufacture and sector of small business has increased for previous year on 8, 1 thousand person.
Also, there is begun a spadework on creation of system of the base enterprises for passage of an industrial practice of students of initial, average professional and higher educational institutions. The training-educational centres with participation of the international companies which opening is planned in the Tyumen region urged to bring the considerable contribution to preparation of qualified personnel. So, in a building stage there is an educational centre of company Schlumberger which will be one of the world's largest centres on preparation and improvement of professional skill of experts in oil and gas branch. Negotiations on the organisation of the educational centre with participation of company Homag which are the world leader on manufacture of the equipment for the enterprises of a timber industry complex are carried on.
The government of the Tyumen region undertakes efforts on advancement of production of the enterprises on the internal and international markets. One of prime actions within the limits of the decision of the given problem is compensation from the regional budget of 8 percent of cost of the ordered and paid equipment and other material resources made at the enterprises, located on territory of the south of the Tyumen region, to the organisations of all patterns of ownership conducting an oil recovery and a gas condensate in territory of the Tyumen region and paying taxes in the regional budget. Granting 8 percentage compensations is stimulus for the oil and gas extraction enterprises to closer cooperation with the enterprises of the south of the Tyumen region, the conclusion with them contracts on delivery of production of branch of mechanical engineering, and also medical, easy, wood, woodworking and a pulp and paper industry, rubber footwear, ferro-concrete products, a brick.
Besides, at the initiative of the Government of the Tyumen region meetings of heads of the enterprises with heads of the oil companies are held: Open Society «Surgutneftegaz», Open Society «SibneftNoyabrskneftegaz», Open Company «Lukoil-Western Siberia». Such meetings it is planned to spend and further. In regional capital presentations on interaction of the industrial enterprises of the Tyumen region with the oil companies (Open Company «Trading house «Lukoil», «TNK-bp») have been organised. The mobile stand «Industry of the Tyumen region» is made, allowing to take operative part in spent exhibitions-fairs, conferences, seminars etc. The information about production and also on the best goods and services of the enterprises is exposed in airport «Roshchino»VIP-hall. The compact disc about development of the industry of area is let out, the information portal «The industry of the south of the Tyumen region» is created.
